How old BODA lamp?
« on: December 29, 2005, 04:43:49 AM »
I have a bubble glass and metal oil lamp with BODA stamped on the frame.  I've had a hard time finding out exactly what type of metal works were done in their early years.  I am trying to find an age for this lamp and was wondering if it is possible to be whale oil since it has such a small resevoire.  (or another slow burning oil)   It seems to be hammered metal and the metal pieces have been soldered in six areas.  Could this be a recent lamp pretty much for decoration?-  the place for the wick has definately been a recent addition.   Thank you for your time.

Hi,
I think your lamp may be Erik Höglund     . There are some of his metal and glass Boda candleholders and chandeliers here.
The bubbly glass shade on yours also looks very reminiscent of Höglund, especially the way the bubbles swirl up towards the rim.
