Venetian?? Green and Gold Bowl
« on: December 06, 2010, 04:06:28 AM »
:hi:  I have this that I got a while ago.  Nice Xmas Color of Green too.

I will again call it like a quilted pattern with splashed of Gold, and with bubbles (or I guess I should say Bullicante)....but I still like the word Bubbles.  :spls:  This one too kinda has that quilted pattern, with the bubbles, and the gold splashing out from the bubbles.  It is about:

~ 6.5 inches WIDE
~ 7 inches LONG
~ and about 2.5 inches TALL

Another one with lots of Sparkle to it.  Love it.  To me, the base shows good wear on it.  I (think) it is Venetian, but not sure.  Anyone know any info for year, or maker?

It will look Nice here at Xmas time, and I love these Sparkly glass pieces.       TIA

The bowl looks like 1950s to me, but I don't know the maker. Hope this helps some. I would say definitely Murano.

Thanks TxSilver for that.  Is there a certain name/describe the way the Gold, and bubbles are sort of quilted on this bowl?  I have been trying to find something here -- but I do not think I have found the *proper* word combo when googling.  I found some other terms I have not heard of (I forget at the moment the word...) but not sure if I am describing this accurately.

You can not see quilt marked (impressed in the glass), but the pattern (the bubbles) and the the Gold kinda splashes out from the bubble to give like an optical illusion of being quilted....

If that makes any sense??

Thanks again :kissy:
