Is this a Swedish vase?
« on: December 07, 2010, 11:18:42 PM »
I found these two at a Finnish fleamarket. They are both about 19,5cm high. Orange one has a Riihimäen Lasi-sticker, but Finnish glass enthusiasts at designlasi.fi cannot identify these vases. So maybe someone added the sticker afterwards...

There are doubts that these are Swedish vases because of this website http://www.myfavouritethings.se/omtaligt.html

What do you suggest?  :-\

:hi: The Swedish website you link to does not attribute your orange vase, and I find the Riihimäen Lasi sticker quite convincing. I would not think that each and every vase made at Riihimäki is properly documented or known, so don't let that spoil your fun. Also you might consider, why would anyone go through the trouble of changing a sticker from one vase onto another, and then put it on a fleamarket?

Hi, I don't know if this will help much, but after reading your post, I noticed this item on ebay:

Not exactly the same shape, but very similar, and described as Riihimaki.  The vase doesn't seem to be marked, but maybe the seller will have more info?

Just to confuse matters, the seller has another listed with a Swedish import label, hmmm....
