Hi, can anybody please help with these 2 signatures on a couple of birds. I can read the name and the date clearly which is Nuutajavri Notsjo 61 but what/who is signature above? TIA Wolfie

Yup,  definately Jaakko Niemi.  One of my favourite glass bird makers.....Are you going to show us what they were the bottoms of please.....if you'll pardon the phrase? :hi:

Thank you so much for posting these Wolfie,  I have some of these birds,  and I think it is the simplicity of form with very little detail that I find so wonderful.  It is all there,  and yet there is very little.....if you know what I mean. 

I have a  really tiny one that I bought and had posted all the way from the USA....fully signed to the base and would fit in a matchbox!

I will take some pics and post them here to share with you and others who might be interested.

Well,  not easy to photograph these,  but here is a picture of my little group,  and the 'Baby's bottom', so you can see how Jaakko managed to squeeze his signature on it. This little bird is only just over 1" long!!

And here is one I bought in a charity shop today dated 1961 and signed J Neimi Nuutajarvi Notsjo.
