Is it possible to date this weight please. Has label to base. Purple and blue ground with a circle of spaced bubbles to the outer edge with white 'snow'  :sg: and a sand-blasted heart with the number 10 . 3 inches in diameter approx. with flat polished base.

Cheers Mike.

So you were the winning bidder on 29 Dec  ;). I have been trying to find out more about this weight (with not much success) since an identical one (slightly damaged) was sold on ebay last May. All I can say - it is not a 'one-off', engraved upon request by a customer on the spot, but at least two of them were made. It looks pretty much like a blank for one of the engraved sea bird weights issued between 1973 and 1978 - but then, it also could have been a general blank for customer weights. Were they made for a tenth wedding anniversary - and now the couple has split? But would both sell their weight within a few months on ebay? Did the seller have any info not mentioned in the description? Could you ask her/him? Both weights were sold by different names, both in the UK.
Should you ever find out more about this weight - please, let me know!

Hi Wuff,

Thanks for your reply. I only purchased this weight from a charity shop in Bristol, U.K., yesterday, I don't collect Caithness paperweights ! I look out for glass , mainly Whitefriars , and sell some on ebay and keep some . Thanks very much for your interest in it , hope we can find out more ! At least three were made now !

Cheers, Mike.
