I'm pretty confident this is Scottish, but is it Monart or Vasart. It's just over 5 in diameter and has a shallow, highly polished button pontil mark. It looks like Monart shape IK size IX. The green is a nice rich colour.

Definitely not Monart, as the pontil  is to roughly finished off. Nazeing seems like a good call.

The pontil is not roughly finished. It is a slightly raised highly polished button; what you can see is a swirl of white, not rough grinding or a snapped pontil. And there is some base grinding. I'll try to take a better shot.

Not Scottish, I forget what latest thoughts on these were, perhaps Nigel will remember!

One more question. What makes it not Scottish? The shape matches IK. The size is close enough to IX. The pontil mark matches some of those described for Monart, i.e., a raised polished mark with some additional base grinding. Is it the colour?

It's the colour but most of all, how it "works".
This shape is very, very common for "whoever made this", not so common for Monart or Vasart.

What's been keeping me from saying nay to Monart or Vasart out loud, or suggesting anything else, is I'm a bit thrown by the polished blob over the pontil mark, and I'm not able to positively id. Nazeing and I think we need Nigel or Frank.
(I get tangled with Nazeing, Grey-Stan and the so-far unidentified maker, then I found S&W did similar and, I'm sure, somebody else - so I'm keeping quiet.)

The polished blob is the pontil mark. It's like one of the rough ground Vasart buttons that has been more finely ground. I'm not bothered what it is. It was £2 worth of cute that I hoped to ID.
