Help From Pinkspoons Please - Holmegaard Safir Drabevase
« on: January 14, 2011, 10:36:01 PM »
I am hoping for help from board member pinkspoons.  I have a pair of Holmegaard cased glass vases .  They are a deep green cased in clear.  They are signed by Per Lutken and dated 1952.  They appear to be the same shape as the Safir Drabevase shown on your web site.  Is there a name for this color and style.  Does Safir refer to the color?  Thanks

Safir is referring to the serie but also the color of the pattern, maybe yours would be "Majgrøn" maygreen serie

Oh, that's an interesting pair.

The colour looks more like Ædelgrøn than Majgrøn. Like my Safir vase, it's the first time I've ever seen it cased in clear glass. Holmegaard's material only covers this design with cased Violet (LINK HERE).
