Beautiful Maltese vase
« on: January 19, 2011, 01:17:28 AM »
what do you think of this... it's probably my favourite apart from my "it is not Whitefriars" vase.... This vase measures 8.5 inches h. and is so beautiful and it feels like silk.there is a signature, i think it says mmaur and the stickers a bit worn i can see Glassblowers Malta, it isn't everyones cuppa tea but it's beautiful... my picture taking and uploading skills are a bit rubbish so i haven't done it justice   :-[ any info would be appreciated thanx

perhaps Mtarfa? or maybe Mdina, but I think the colours are Mtarfa perhaps?
Very pretty and I love those colours.

would agree Mtarfa. Can you get a picture of the base with the flash off in good light, maybe a bit easier to see
cheers

Here's a couple that look like they have the same pattern, both labelled + signed Mtarfa:

Wayne I love the shape of that vase on the bottom - stunning colour combo isn't it?

Very striking!  I prefer the bottom one too, nice and chunky!

I've been watching that one of yours, Wayne - a bit pricey for me and I'm not buying anything at all atm, but it is absolutely gorgeous. Quite Kosta-ish, isn't it?

I keep saying this - both Mtarfa and Phoenician glass can be absolutely stunning, they have not yet found their proper place in the market. They are definitely things to be looking out for.
