Hi Rose,

Great to hear from you.  I haven't seen you on the boards in a while.  I too have a robin's egg blue bowl.  Except mine is in a different shape as yours but same color and same effect (I have seen several of these types of bowls in many colors, shapes & sizes).  Here it is:

I found a similar ashtray that is the same shape as mine on Ebay this morning and guess what... with a label from Weil Ceramics.  http://cgi.ebay.com/Mid-Century-BARBINI-MURANO-Glass-lighter-bowl-ashtray-/290526457881?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43a4b9f019

I would say date wise circa 1960's.

tam bam

:hiclp: :hiclp:  Thanks all, as I was thinking (  :thud: ) that it might be Barbini...........1960 was a Good year

Hi Rose,

I was 'rooting around' the web sites looking for some Barbini provenance for your lovely Bowl, when I found myself in this Estate Sale site.  It is all sold, and there is some Barbini glass in it, but oh Rose,  make a cuppa and sit for half an hour and just look at the glass this person had in his estate..............it is so lovely,  I have been moved to tears by some of it......enjoy!

I thought you would like it Rose :sun:.....there are a couple of pieces like yours, and IMHO I think yours is Barbini :X:. Oh for a label!! I'll keep looking though. ( We need a smiley with binoculars please!!)

i had 1 of these,
darker blue than yours, no eggshell effect.

It had a blue foil Tosso label.

luck  :chky:

Your message got lost amongst the talk, so I wanted to pull it back out. I've wondered if many of these type bowls weren't made by F Toso.
