Please don't take me seriously......unless my OH has an abberation, and says, 'Well if you want them my love,  have them!' ( most unlikely,  much more likely to be 'Haven't you got enough glass!??), then they have already gone way too high for me to even start bidding......but I would love to own them.

We should put bets on how high they will go!!  The winner buys the coffee in the café!! :t:

Not too bad results for the birds on Ebay.  I think my $20 bird paid off.  I am happy! :hiclp:

Hi everyone -

I, too, have a small Seguso Vetri D'arte bird with a very similar label.  (see photos)

My bird's round gold label says:

Seguso Vetri D'arte
Murano
6307
Made in Italy

I just purchased this figurine at an estate sale.  The home had many items from Europe.

I'm interested in any information you all can share?

Thanks much!

I just added a couple of Seguso birds shown by the OP to the San Marcos Facebook page, so the new message came to my email almost like a psychic phenomenon. Doo wee oooooo.  :ho:

aslusers, your red bird is a good Seguso VdA bird. Seguso made this design in many different colors, some opaline and others not. Some of them had other kinds of decoration. I believe they were made late 1950-early 1960s. I love the red color. There is an opaline bird like this one on the Seguso VdA bird page of the zoo. You can reach the zoo by clicking the link under my signature. (If you would like to add your red one to the zoo, it is most welcome. Just email me the picture and your full name and I'll be glad to add it.)

Thank you, Anita!

The opaline bird you have could be my birds fraternal twin!

I love this red color, too.  I guess I did pretty well for a $4 purchase?

I'll send some photos so you can add to the zoo.  And, thank you for running the Murano Zoo - what a treasure trove of information!
