Murano lamp base.....
«
on:

Hi all,
Looking for a bit advice on this Sommerso lamp base. It measures 22" x 13" at it's widest.
Just curious if anyone has an idea of who may have made it?
Thanks,
rob

Very pretty lamp base. The sommerso effect is beautiful in green and blue. Not too sure who made it though. Sorry I am not much help.

Beautiful lamp base. Is there some ribbing on the edge or is that just the net curtains in the background.
Very well made. Any labels?

Thanks for your interest.
The lamp base is heavily ribbed and has no labels, unfortunately.

Hi Rob - Still have no idea but it does have a look of some of the Seguso VDA pieces that are sold by design and arts, particularly as the fittings are not on it. I assume it has a hole drilled in the bottom?

Thanks for your interest.
Here's a couple of photos that show the ribbed effect and the hole in the bottom of the base.

I would love to have a lamp like this, a pair would be even better. Great find if you decide you don't want the aggravation of finishing it as a lamp I would be interested in it.

I'll keep that in mind ardy and thanks again for your interest.
I just enjoy it as an object for the time being even though it does tower over the pieces I have on display.

Just one last thought Rob. Looking at the base I suggest that it was going to be constructed on a base as there is no exit for the cable from the hole. Could have been an interesting piece assembled.
