Stevens&Williams Uranium Glass
« on: February 07, 2011, 06:16:11 PM »
Hello,
i wonder does any collector of uranium glass know if they did items of an almost identical nature in both uranium added and non uranium as i have a small collection of items which have an alabaster top and foot with green uranium glass in between. The glass is normally milky green and radiates under uv, i have just bought a piece of the same type and the glass whilst having bubbles and small imperfections is not so cloudy/milky and doesn't glow under uv. Is this piece still a genuine S&W production does anyone know?
(hope i've posted in the correct place, sorry if not as i've just joined)
PS i tried uploading a photo but the pic was too big in kb's or whatever <--- Mod: pics added for you now

Welcome to the board and yes you've asked in the right place. :) If you'd like to send me your large pics by email (up to 8Mb per email but multiple emails is fine) I'll resize them to fit the board and upload them to your post above for you. Click the wee envelope icon below my name on the left to email me.

In the top picture the lidded pot on the left is a Stevens and Williams 'alabaster' pot.  The lemonade glass on the right is I think Josephinenutte
as per this link
http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,61100.msg344522.html#msg344522

I don't know what any of the items in the bottom picture are.  However if they are uranium glass I think there is a bowl the same as the bowl on the right, somewhere on this board with matching smaller bowls.  I think it might be worth investigating Josephinenhutte for that as well.
Nothing to add for the items on the left of the bottom picture.
