Pulegoso Bowl - Looking for ideas of House the produced it????
« on: February 14, 2011, 02:03:30 AM »
A new piece I purchased today.....
7 inches long, 4.75 inches wide and 2.5 inches tall.
Emerald green interior with a generous use of gold......
Very well executed.....  Any ideas of the house that produced it??

TIA
Craig

Hi obscurities...my thought is either Barbini or A.S. I have seen a few pieces in this shape by Barbini but not in this technique! What an interesting combination. The inner layer though makes me think of A.S. This is an extremely well made piece and the quality is a lot better than the ones I have almost purchased in this shape. Well done. I will do some searching but it may take a while. I am now back in the wireless abyss so it takes me 3 times as long to do things.

I believe it is Barbini for VAMSA. The shape of the bowl and the thickness of the pulegoso layer as it rolls into the rim makes me favor VAMSA. (So I agree with Kane on the Barbini.)

I love the kidney bean shape.  I agree with the VAMSA attribution.  I need to go bargain hunting with you, Craig.

If you look at enough stuff for long enough, even someone like me gets lucky once in a while.....  I am happy to have found this and the Seguso Cornucopia, or shell, a week ago....   so a couple of good "dumb luck" weeks.....

When I found this piece I just knew it was very unusual, I knew I really liked it, and I knew I had not really seen one before, which all added up to a "must buy".  I am now completely thrilled to discover what I have actually found.....  and I did not have to pay very much at all for it.....  $72.25.....     It was on sale.....
