« on: February 17, 2011, 09:29:44 PM »
I know I said I would post this is the Café, but I haven't yet found out how to post pictures there!!

So:-

Here are my lovely little opalescent birds......one has quite a blue bottie!!

Both have Seguso Labels..... :smg:

I have tried to capture the little black specks,  but not very successfully I'm afraid.....

Anita,  if you want picture, just say.....the answer is always YES!

eek! squashed road kill birds. Just kidding (from other thread).

Thanks for the offer, Rosie. We already have one of these in the zoo courtesy of Tami. They are fantastic birds. These and the one I have made by Effetre are the only loosely molded ones I've seen. I did see a completely molded bird made by Cesare Toso the other day. You can tell there is a huge difference in the way they are molded, though I don't know enough to explain the difference.

Excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  They are just to die for.     Ok my theory has been blown right out the window regarding these birds since seeing your pics, Rosie.  I am sure you are floating on air right now. I sure was when I received mine.  Enjoy! Enjoy! Enjoy!  I am green with

Anita and Tami  :kissy:

They are lovelier than any photos can ever show!!  They are also from different molds, as there are subtle differences in the shape......I am delighted with them.

Tami,  what was your theory that has been blown out of the window?????

Well, I am completely hooked on opalescent glass now....they were listed as irridescent BTW, and my lovely squirrel has a couple of new friends. :rah:

You are discouraged from posting pix in the cafe; links are preferred. But there is no need to post these in the cafe as they are glass and Murano. It's not all about ID requests; show and tell is allowed.

Thanks Christine, :)  I realise that now,  in fact I think I had a similar problem when I wanted to show a picture of the winter wonderland behind our house this winter.....I think it was Anne who helped me out there......My memory is getting worserer and worserer!! :pb:

However, I did want to 'show and tell',  'cos they are so lovely and so many of you were interested, and I truly didn't think they were in my league, (but had been watching them from the moment they were listed), until John, out of the blue, said 'go for them'.....so I am truly blessed

I hope I meet lots of you at the Cambridge Fair.  :sun:

Rosie, I looked at Tami's bird today and remembered it has some dark blue in it. I think it would be great to have yours in there, too, to show ones that don't have the dark blue. Could you send me a shot of them. The shot you have showing them both together from the back would be great. I'll put your birds with Tami's. Thanks!

Hi Rosie,

So glad your birds are in the zoo!! :rah:  To answer question, I was pondering of the age of my bird one night and also pondering the label on my bird and then Martin showed me your birds.  The reason why I asked you if there were any ash specks was because I was wondering if SVdA made some at a earlier date and then made them again at a later date.  But since you found ash in yours too just throws that theory out the window.  I am still puzzled about the label on mine and when SVdA used it?  Seeing your labels just confuses me even more.  I am just a confused person I guess.
