Fingers crossed, but not real hopeful since Amazon doesn't have the book yet. Thanks, ardy.

Hi Anita - you could be right but here are the book details note dec 2010 date. I would think they are correct but Amazon not having it is a worry. Although it seems to be available in many book stores in the US.

BTW I ordered the Murano Glass 1910-1970: Theme and Variations by Marc Heiremans. Will see if that arrives OK, it was 20% cheaper than anywhere else I could find it. The SVDA book is 65 pounds + shipping which is reasonable in Australia ie $US106 +$13 shipping.

I have just checked their website and it is not listed. It would seem it is not released yet. I might give the aussie office a call on Monday and see if we can get an update.

I just checked the store availability for Waterstones at http://www.waterstones.com/waterstonesweb/displayStockAvailability.do?sku=3713517. There is no rank for the stores, so I doubt that the book came in. Rats! I ordered one. I hope they don't charge until they send.

Hi all, I contacted Marc via his website in August last year after seeing his Seguso book listed as available on a website (I forget which one) to see if it was actually available.  This was his response at the time:

"No, the information is incorrect. The book will be released only in 2013 in conjunction with a travelling exhibition throughout Europe."

I guess that means the book won't be widely available. I am giving up on it. The book has been dangled like a carrot for years. There must be something wrong with it that they plan a release, then don't release it several times now. I was able to cancel my order at Waterstone, so no problem. But I sure wish we had a good VdA book.

The problem might be with the publisher rather than with the quality of the book - Arnoldsche also mucked about with a series of three books on WMF. Volumes 1 & 2 were published, and are both excellent texts, but Vol. 3 vanished into the ether after a few promised-but-unfulfilled release dates.

 :-\

If, for some reason, it does only get sold through venues hosting the exhibition, it might become available through the individual venue websites. I've managed to get a few exhibition-only books from various galleries' online shops when I've not had chance to visit them in person.

Maybe we should write to Marc Heiremans and suggest he use another publisher?

EDIT: Just wrote to Arnoldsche and copied Marc Heiremans -

I was looking at the Waterstones book site http://www.waterstones.com/waterstonesweb/products/marc+heiremans/seguso+vetri+d27arte/3713517/ and they claim this book was published in Dec 2010, Is this true? Many of us in the Murano glass society http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/board,6.0.html are waiting on this book and have been waiting for several years.

We would appreciate a definitive statement from you on whether you plan to release this book?

Thank you
