Far from my usual interest, but I liked the style and the beautiful iridescence in this ashtray.

Diameter 16 cm, height 4.5 cm.
Clear glass, iridescent layer on the under-/outside as far as I can see. Ground base.
The flower in the center of the pattern looks "frosted".

Is this contemporary carnival glass, or old?

Thanks!
Michael

It has a look of LGW to me. Here's an article I wrote some years back (it is on my old website).

Thank you very much, Glen and Ivo!

I read the link Glen kindly provided, very interesting.
Because of the vivid iridescence I had the feeling that this was more likely "new" carnival glass. (I guess production dates somewhere between 1960ies and 1980ies?)

Anyway, very nice piece of glass :)

Thanks, Rose! :)
And it looks even better in reality (like most iridescent glass).

Nor do I have the slightest interest in it to be honest.
Your stadium-rhyme like answer just made me wonder...  ;D
