Davidson Chippendale with label
« on: March 06, 2011, 02:16:13 PM »
Snapped these photos at a bootsale this morning, just adding another label to my records really. I noticed there was not one in GlassGallery but that has changed now. :D

That's super, thanks John. I have tons (well it seems like tons!) of Chippendale and not one piece of it carries a paper label.

Chippendale was what started me off collecting glass at the tender age of 8 when my lovely grannie (the one who bought me Alice in Wonderland) gave me a Chippendale candlestick and the rest, as they say...  if it wasn't for her I'd be book and glass free... possibly...  :t: and then again, probably not!  :ooh:

Are there any shapes you still need, Anne? I have a little lidded mustard pot for you if you'd like it. It came all the way to Warrington and all the way back again, 'cos I forgot to leave it behind! :-[

Ooooh, goody, my pot is quite different!
It has handles, it's top knop is much pointier - and it has a tiny air bubble at the tip - it's unbroken, a manufacturing flaw I assume.
It's pressed - the base is not polished flat. Would you like it now?

Christine  :o :o - it's probably just as well I didn't entrust you with it, after that comment.  :P

No, not like that either - the lid is flattish - it's the top-knop (handle-y bit) which is pointy. Will get a pic soon.

It's not this one is it Sue? http://yobunny.org.uk/gallery1/displayimage.php?pos=-555

John

Crikey, I hope not John, that's a covered sugar bowl!  :kissy: It's huge!!!  :t:

Sue, I look forward to seeing a picture - I have more Chippendale stuff that's not photographed yet but I don't recall another mustard pot in them, so yes please! (I can't get to the cupboards to check yet, as the living room is chaotic with stuff piled everywhere whilst Tigs is having a sort out! ::))

Ta-da!

(sorry, I'm really having trouble with small things and the camera. I'm waiting for new spectacles, perhaps they might help, but with my present "close-up" ones, I can't see further than about 18" - I just can't get one pair of glasses that give me a working range of near vision. )
