Veritable Opale - Italian not French

Here is a mystery.  I bought this group of 3 perfume/scent bottles.  They were described as French and the terms veritable and opale are generally associated with French opaline glass.

Pressglas Korrespondenz

Here are the   Perfume Bottles

Single Bottle

The real surprise is the label

It says Made in Italy.  I have not been able to find who used this label.  The glass is a light peachy pink possibly what Ivo calls "nude" or flesh tone.

The 3 bottles are similar but not identical.  The stoppers are not interchangeable since the diameter of the neck openings all vary.

veritable and opale
I think those two words are the same in Italian as in French.
Even if not, they could have been labeled for the French market.

I found some old threads on similar labels

I hope when Ivo gets back he can provide more information on these pieces.

They are made very much in the style of French opaline.

Bumping this up.

Also I wanted to say that the glass is not cased glass but 1 color of translucent opaline glass.

Any idea of maker?

Connie, another thread is:

http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,3937.0.html

I went a little off-beam assuming the two vases were both 'Veritable Opaline' (V.Nason), but as you'll see this isn't the case.

Another possible one to consider is 'Florentine Opaline' (I think? Ivo would probably confirm) and made in Florence, unsuprisingly!

Thank you, David.  I had missed that post.

Is the blue vase with the opaline foot cased?  What I see with most of the Italian "opaline" vases is that they achieve the opaline look by layering a transparent colored glass over a thin layer of white glass.

This is not the situation with my cologne bottles.  They are 1 layer of glass.

I just got a lemony yellow opaline cologne bottle in that I will have to photograph. It doesn't have a label and IMHO is much better quality than the other opaline pieces.

In my opinion, no. I've scrutinised the edges and cannot see any layer, but I know this can sometimes be virtually indetectable.

Correct, véritable Opale is a label used by (IVV?) in the Florence region. Véritable is French, not Italian - but a lot of 'opale' and 'opaline' was made for export to France. You are bound to run into pieces with those labels in any French market.
There may be some confusion between French and Italian, though. Opale is a solid semi translucent colour, Opalina (Italian) is opale cased in cristallo (clear).
