Help with Millefiori close pack paperweight please
« on: March 08, 2011, 02:32:42 PM »
No nothing about it except it was described as Scottish no signature, cannot see any date or letter cane
The base is flat ground and polished, plenty of different type canes and looks well made, any thoughts?

I agree!  Your weight is a very nice looking Murano.  I really like the colors.  Perhaps F Toso 1960 plus or minus.  After a few days here, maybe you would like this thread moved to the Murano section (for additional id)  I'm sure the mods will be happy to do so.

Enjoy! ..... Lily  :hi:

Thanks for the help, maybe adding Murano in the title may help?

I don't know, but there is a good chance the PWT is Aureliano Toso. The unusual canes and the large size of the glass pieces in the ground look like them. If it is A. Toso, it is one of the nicer ones I've seen by them. Many of their paperweights are rather messy as if they were going from the 19th Century look.

I thought maybe AVeM when I first looked, but the colorful pinwheel canes are something I've seen on A. Toso PWTs. Until someone knows more, I guess the best we can say is Murano at the moment.
