Another item from my collection which I had thought was probably modern however the same design in blue was sold on ebay last week for over £50 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7379355485&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1  The seller listed it as possibly by Riihimaen.  Is it and if not can any one shed any light on who may be responsible?

Tapio Wirkkala did design a vase with (what looks like from the drawing) a hole through the middle, but his had rounded sides and was therefore an oval shape. This vase doesn't feel Riihimaen to me, but I've almost given up trying to be definite these days!  I've also seen it attributed to Whitefriars before, which is isn't.

I'd like to know where this vase comes from too.  The wobbly surface pattern is probably caused by a mould colder than the applied glass which cooled the outside of the vessel down quicker the inside of it.

Not much help really, sorry!   :?
