Hi to everyone on the glass message board  :hi:

I stumbled across this excellent site and have spent too much time browsing! ::)

Hope someone will be able to help identify or give me some more info on a rather attractive apothecary's / chemist's bottle which has come my way.  I have attached pictures below and as you will see it is clear moulded glass (is that the term for two pieces of glass moulded together rather than a piece of blown glass with a pontil?)  On one side of the item the words Inf: Buchu: Conc: 1-7 have been etched.  I believe this stands for infusion of Buchu with a concentrate but I could be wrong.

The item has a ground glass stopper and underneath has the number 16 pressed into the base with two curious arrows pointing in opposite directions, each with a little tail which goes out vertically from the base of the arrow.

I think it could well be continental (sorry if I have posted this query in the wrong place  :spls2: ) and I wonder if the arrows represent a military connection?  The bottle stands 19cm high (22cm with stopper).  Look forward to any help you may be able to give..

Thanks so much

Welcome to the GMB. This is indeed the right place to post, though you might get more help from a specialised bottle site. Your bottle is mould blown, but it is the mould that is in two pieces so it can open, not the glass.

quite a modern bottle; the label refers to a concentrated Buchu infusion - a herbal prostate cure (http://www.ageless.co.za/herb-buchu.htm) which may not be a a standard apothecary stock.

Christine and Ivo

Thanks very much for your responses and guidance.  Let's see if anyone else can shed light on the arrows!

The arrows symbol is for Beatson Clark, a well known bottle works who are still in business: http://www.beatsonclark.co.uk/index.php
Your bottle looks nice, but I think it's a fairly recent example.
