« on: March 15, 2011, 10:49:33 PM »
Hello

I have recently purchased 3 sets of Holmegaard glasses. 8 Sherry.....8 Brandy......& 6 white wine all in perfect condition. They are i'm told they are the thePrincess design by a Per Lutken?

Could anyone tell me more about the glasses & their designer? They are absolutely gorgeous & i hope are worth the money i paid for them?

Andrew

'Princess' was designed by Bent Severin for Kastrup Glas in 1957. Kastrup merged with Holmegaard in 1965.

Although they were in production for a LONG time, they're still very collectable and sometimes fetch very good money (depending on the glass - champagne flutes seem to be the most desirable, whilst sherry glasses can often be bought individually for loose change).

If the seller's been a bit free and easy with their attribution, it might be best to upload a photo to double-check that they are Princess.

I will take photo's tomorrow & post them.

Ive just checked the sizes & the sherry glasses seem to be port glasses?? just over 4" height by 2" diameter!

Thanks for your help!
