Dare I say reminds me of Mdina maybe? say early because of the shape and style and heavy base wear, does the smooth polished pontil mark rule out Mdina, not sure I know Boffo used this style on his pieces :ooh:

Not Mdina by the look of it Chris, the shape is not right nor the use of colour. The Boffos introduced the technique of polishing out pontil marks to production at Mdina, an item with a polished out pontil mark does not imply it would have been made by one of them but can indicate a time period for production at Mdina.

I have seen these vases around and I suspect they are from Eastern Europe (possibly Lithuania) or maybe China.

Looks to me like Ronald Stennett Willson for King's Lynn/ Wedgwood. A lovely vase :)

I agree with John - absolutely NOT Mdina. Not with that livid orange and the yellows are all there in the wrong way. It doesn't look like the result of silver chloride use.

I had not considered that, it does look like part of the Studio Range, that is why it looks familiar. I am going to give myself a good talking to. ;D

Glad you digressed John  :wsh: maybe just me but why do I always think China = modern?
Stands just over 4" and weighs an hefty 1kg lot's of bubbles and a few imperfections in the glass.

The size is ok for Wedgwood, the Lithuanian stuff I was thinking off was much bigger, 10 -12 inches or more.
