A question/request about Davidson Glass
« on: March 17, 2011, 03:20:47 AM »
Hello Everyone,
Please would someone be able to post a picture of a 247.5 grapefruit and its measurements, as I have a bowl which is very similar to a 248D but came with a saucer not a plinth and I think this may be a grapefruit.

Thank-you.

Here are a couple of photos.
Widest part of the bowl diameter 5 1/2 inches, 2 inches high the base diameter is 2inches.
Saucers diameter is 5 inches and stands 1 inch high.
Please could someone confirm if this is indeed a Davidson 247.5 grapefruit.

Cheers
Megan

More likely a dessert bowl; it's rather wide for a grapefruit. Though a pedestal grapefruit with a plate was an option. The 247 1/2 grapefruit set was pedestal type.

Thanks Keith, The saucer looks the same!
I've been using plenty of gigabytes trying to work-out which bowl this is and have been using cloudglass.com to work out design numbers.
If it is a 248D I assume it has been married with the grapefruit saucer.

Thanks Christine, I'll see what I can find under dessert bowls.

On the upside with the help of the above mentioned web site  I've been able to positively identify a couple of 3 piece flower sets I have confirming one has an incorrect bock and the other is missing a 10 grid.
Cheers
