Wedgwood RSW numbers (vases)
« on: March 17, 2011, 11:45:41 AM »
Does anyone have the RSW numbers (eg. RSW 25 etc.) for Kings Lynn and Wedgwood's glass vases please?

I'm particularly interested in the numbers for the Lunar/Moon Crater, Textured, Snowflake and Cylinder range of vases and the bottle shaped decanter produced from around 1967.

From Susan Tobins excellent book. Cylinder vase - small narrower version RSW 20/1 medium RSW 20/2,   large RSW 20/3 (page 65 illustration)

from Ronald Stennett Willson website ;Cylinder vases: RSW20 7.5inch: RSW20/1  9 inch: RSW20/2  10 inch: RSW20/3

But unfortunately that is all I can find. The moon crater and Snowflake vases are listed only by name as you have them .

As to "Textured" and the decanter - there are a number of "bottle "shaped decanters. If you can post a photo I will see if I can match it with one in the book. The same for the textured vase.

The decanter looks like an RSW 43 without its stopper. Stopper was cork shaped, flat topped, with 2 small bubbles with a larger flat bubble in between them - similar to the domed paperweights. it came in clear, blue or topaz. Size not given. photo on p 23 of Susan Tobins book.

Mods - am I allowed to photograph the book page and post the picture if it is accredited to ST's book? or would that be a breach of copyright?

cannot see the textured one yet - will keep looking

RSW 626 is listed as a textured vase  8.25 inches made in clear, blue, topaz or green. no photo though. This is the only one listed that I can see where size and colour match - so may be it.

Sorry can't be of more help.

Hi Jak, it would be a breach of copyright and board policy, but thanks for asking.

Thanks Anne, that's what I thought - and why I didn't do it - but one picture could clarify so easily Sigh!
