Krosno, most likely. The bubble is a giveaway.

Hi, Krosno is Polish glass.

These were on sale in Marks & Spencer a couple of years back too - theirs were made in China, and I bought one for research / reference purposes. They had red, purple and brown I seem to recall. We had a long discussion about them at the time: http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,2179.0.html and  http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,2447.0.html

My red one is here: http://yobunny.org.uk/gallery1/displayimage.php?pos=-423

I've Been lookin everywhere for something similar just so I could place the vase!! Does the Chinese one taper slightly from the base to the neck? This is slightly narrower at the top??

I'm not convinced that all these pieces are either Krosno or Chinese, although some undoubtedly are. Here's a piece I have with an Ebeling and Reuss, Sweden label on it. The company, which still exists, I believe, imported a fair bit of Murano and Swedish glass into the US in the 1950's to 1960's, a North American equivalent of  George Hardy. Aseda has always seemed to me to be the likely source of their Swedish glass, although the Aseda vases similar to this pictured in "Fire and Ice" are tapered.

Anybody else seen other labels?

David

Mod: Important Note. As at 19 May 2020, a thread by Wayne advises that George Hardy was not the importer of various glass items as has been stated in threads within the GMB. The correct importer name is Hans Geismar.

Mine is dead straight, no tapering at all and is definitely Chinese.
