At last I've actually got a new piece of glass arrived today, coincidentaly on my birthday, so whoopee.
I believe Giorgio Ferro for Avem from the 1950's, but anyone able to confirm that, really just bought it because I love it.

Sorry Paul, I can't help on this one, but HAPPY BIRTHDAY
If I know, I'll comment. If I think I know, I'll have a go. If I have no idea, I'll just keep quiet and learn from others, so the next time I'll know.

Hi again Paul...
On the fish, I almost bid on it myself.
I asked the seller where he got his information, but never got a reply.
I have a fish with the G.F. label, the one with the Roman head on it, but it doesnt have a disk underneath, and its really really fat, like one of those blow fish. It also has murrines inside. Actually I have 2, but only 1 with labels. The end of their tails have the same cut.

The seller got his ID from a museum in Sweden, I think it's sound though because the chopped off look to the tail seems to be a feature as do the applied black and white eyes, are the eyes on yours the same. The damage to the base he referred to is from manufacture and not a chip just where the base was applied.
By the way Javier did you see the red and black Seguso cat, I ended up buying it just because I didn't have anything in the red, but as usual paid more than I intended.

Hi Paul,
Sorry for the delay, here are the photos...

the one with vaseline glass has the G.F. label underneath. The other doesnt have one.... and this one too, looks like yours but no label either...

Actually, the ones with the base look like the Balboa fish too. Same cut mouth, disk, and tail. I wonder if they are all related...
As you can see they have both similarities and differences. The 2 above have little holes in for mouths, not cut. Looks like some one pushed a pin into the glass to make it. They do have the same eyes, but that could be just a standard? The tails are the same, but no bases, so I really dont know if they are from the same maker. Maybe we'll see one with a label soon.
Hope the pics help.
