Borske Sklo Vase????
« on: March 19, 2011, 07:13:24 PM »
Hi,

I am wondering whether anyone can help me identify this glass vase that I recently bought?

It stands 20cm high and the diameter at the rim is 8.5cm. It weighs just over 1kg.

I think it maybe Borske Sklo but would really appreciate a 2nd opinion and also any other information about the piece.

Thanks,

Stephen

Hello Stephen,
I believe your vase is Rosice 1292, designed by Jiri Zejmon. See here: http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,34167.0.html and http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,34461.0.html

You're welcome...  just a bit of additional information - Frantisek Vizner designed a very similar piece: http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,35168.0.html

To be honest, I have a hard time telling the Zejmon and Vizner vases apart.  Vizner's piece is slightly taller, and it seems as if the 'diamonds' are more closely knit together.  Just in case, please wait for someone more knowledgable to confirm.  :usd:

Borske Sklo is blown glass rather than pressed
