What is this for?
« on: September 17, 2013, 07:32:08 AM »
Hi All - picked this up for $1 at a local market. I plan to use it on the Christmas tree but what is it really for? And who made it?

Great score for $1.

I thought Dino Martens when I first saw it...reminds me of his mezza filigrana pieces, which I own a few off, but yours does not have the white stripe...still though, it looks like quality to me...

Other opinions would be appreciated...

Probably just an ornament ardy like the apples, pears etc that you see, but of better quality...

Nice....I would say Xmas  OR   for inside a Bowl as decoration   OR just a smaller example of some work that can be done (eg Store sample ) ??

Thanks Kane and Rose,

I think you are onto it Rose as a fruit inside a bowl. I have seen them somewhere.

Kane I thought along similar lines but not my area so will defer to you and others.

I think I saw somewhere where they have just some Murano bowls with several glass ball, Xmas thing, or things piled in bowls -- Kinda like more samples of work.

I think it was a pic from from Murano Glass store in *Italy* (( If I recall )) that someone had posted a long time ago. It is Quality!!

Really nice Murano Mezza Filigrana. It's for decoration, of course! :)
