Murano - Opaline Mine Vase - 2 Labels (??)
« on: March 29, 2011, 07:06:38 PM »
 :hi: there.

Sorry I have not been around for a while -- I fell *UP* the stairs and hurt my herniated discs in my Neck.  Most people fall down the stairs -- I fell UP... :24:

Anyways, I got this today.  I not sure if it is a Mini vase or what -- or if it had a stopper at one time.  It is about 6 inches tall, and about 3 inches wide at the widest point.  It has 2 labels on it, but not sure what they mean (or who).  Both labels are Foil with one being Blue, and the other being Yellow.

The Blue foil label saysor looks like it to me ?:
OPALINE
FLLI FERRO
MURANO

The Yellow Foil Label says:
MADE IN ITALY

So is this *true* Murano, and who is the maker?  What would be the date of this item?  Is it a Mini vase (bud vase) or did it have a stopper at one time --- and not even a vase but maybe something to do with Perfume ???  Any significance with the two labels together at all....other than made in Italy?

Thanks.   If this is Murano, then I guess it can be moved to the Murano section...as I was not sure

Hi, Rose. I wondered where you had been. So sorry to hear about your accident. I know you must have been in a lot of pain. It is good to see you back.

Now, about your vase... It is Fratelli Ferro. I have been seeing a lot of things they made recently. I don't know a lot about them other than their glass is made in Murano.

Craig

lol....guess I could have said I tripped going up the stairs, but saying I fell up the stairs sounds better.  Good thing I had no glass in my hand!!   My tender Neck  -- but back to the post.

Anyone have an idea as to Age on this item, or is it a bud vase, or missing a stopper (maybe).  I just liked it with the 2 labels anyhow...
