Smokey green pressed glass bowl with 6 feet - Miloš Filip?
« on: April 04, 2011, 04:07:25 PM »
I found this great pressed glass bowl at a fleamarket (together with a big Adolf Matura platter in exactly the same smokey green colour, see last pic).
Bowl has a diameter of 24 cm, and stands on 6 feet ;D
Reminds a little of the Zemek bowl with 4 feet which was discussed here some threads below...

Searched Jindrichs site, and found a quite blurry pic in one of the pressed glass catalogues which I guess shows the same bowl: http://picasaweb.google.com/Jindra8526/LisovaneSkloDomov19733?authkey=Gv1sRgCLbZtKSGtKWaowE#5449877277525742978

So is this by Miloš Filip? When was it designed?
The colour seems quite unusual as well?

Thanks!
Michael

I browsed other Czech resources. Looks that this piece was designed in 1956 for Rudolfova hut.
Milos Filip (1926 - 1966) great designer had suicided because lost girl friend. I have been told that this girl was another great designer M. Svobodova - the most attractive girl from Academy.
This information has to be confirmed - but we know firmly that Filip and Svobodova were couple for a while.

I found some more info here (3rd side of the .pdf): http://www.pressglas-korrespondenz.de/aktuelles/pdf/pk-2009-1w-stopfer-newhall-sklo-union.pdf

The pic is from the catalogue section of the Sklo Union book by Marcus Newhall (exhibition catalogue „České lisovane sklo“, Gottwaldov/Zlin 1972).
They date the design to 1966; Rudolfova hut, Prod.Nr. 13.224
