The person who told you that it wasn't made in Murano was correct. Unfortunately, many companies in Italy and elsewhere try to take advantage of the reputation that Murano has. There are even examples of labels saying "made in Murano" when the piece was made many miles away. I can't see your piece very clearly, so I can't comment on whether it's a "lemon," but surely the important thing is whether you like it.

Just a suggestion for the board, but wouldn't it be wise once we find out a label is not from Murano to put it in the description so it doesn't confuse others?

Once we know it isn't Murano we will move it to the right place instead. :)

Anne:

I appreciate your position, Anne, but I think there would be general agreement that this isn't a Murano label, but a label for "Murano-style" glass. Keeping the label in the Murano file creates confusion for members like sisco33.

Of course, I could be wrong. Is there anyone who thinks it is a Murano label?

David, the label is in the Italian non-murano album. This topic is fine here as this forum covers Murano and Italian glass. I don't know if the label is also in the Murano101 topic  - as it covers 11 pages I simply don't have the time to plough through it all to find the relevant post within that topic which someone else has spotted and didn't post the link to.

My apologies, Anne.

The label is in the non-Murano section, which lazy me should have checked before asking non-lazy you to do some extra work.

My apologizes also.  I was thinking the label was in the Murano labels and just noticed it is in the Italian non-Murano section also.  (Holding head in shame)
