Hi rocco...my opinion is that is not Poli due to the finish of the rim on the base. But I also think I have seen a similar piece like yours with the Brussels World Fair 1958 label on it or a generic murano label a long time ago. I can't remember if it was on ebay or some other site

Sorry I can't be much help at this stage...

Yes i remember seeing that one but I have seen one that is exactly similar to rocco's but in two shades, a blue and the pinky/purple colour. Not as bold as that sommerso on Pips but more of a blending colour combination that was on ebay. It did have a label as well but not a SVdA label.

Thank you very much for looking into this (and sorry once more for hijacking -- it was the colour and weight of your beautiful Poli vase which made me think of my unidentified piece again).

Good to know that you all think that Murano is quite probable -- we were not so sure about it in my original ID request...

Thanks again!
Michael

That's ok rocco, I have the Poli piece in box under my desk at work at the moment. Since I don't have a car at the moment I can't possibly carry the box via public transport home as it is 12kg's. So i will start a new thread when I put the photo's up in a few weeks... ;D
