Uranium trinket set - ID = Reich set # 8877
« on: April 14, 2011, 07:16:42 AM »
HI,   I bought this lovely uranium trinket set yesterday on the car boot for £2. It was glowing like mad in the sunshine.even though it was filthy. I've searched all the usual places for a maker but can't find it,  but I think it could be S. Reich as I have a glass clock in the same pattern which was identified by GMB last year. Can anyone confirm this for me. Thanks as always, Cheryl

It certainly has the Reich look to it and the shade of green looks good...

 :hi: Cheryl
A wonderful Reich 1934 set # 8877  :hiclp:
Please can you add an image front view of the box for confirmation? The catalogue's drawings do not show the '8'shape of the base - thank you!

Hi, I've added two more photos, one from above showing the figure of eight shape and a front view of the larger box. Hope these help. Cheryl

Reich & Co. 8877 trinket set pieces as in the ca.1934 musterbuch.

Thanks to Pamela showing the S. Reich & Co. ca.1934 musterbuch online, I can now identify some glass trinket set pieces on file as from Reich’s 8877 set, illustrated on page 67:
http://www.glas-musterbuch.de/Reich-ca-1934.375+B6YmFja1BJRD0zNzUmcHJvZHVjdElEPTE0OTQ5JnBpZF9wcm9kdWN0PTM3NSZkZXRhaWw9.0.html

(Permission for the re-use of the first two images on the GMB granted by frankieb1993, and the second two images granted by pottyparcels).

These show a candlestick, two sizes of lidded pot, and a ringholder, and that there seems to pink and peachy-pink colourways.

The matching tray in the musterbuch illustration appears to be quite unusual. Does anyone have a photo of the tray to show, please.

Fred.

Photos of large and small lidded pots in green uranium glass (with strong reaction to UV light).
