But that sig looks to me like A. Tagliapietra, in which case it would be Andrea, not Lino.  http://www.redstickglass.com/maestrostagliapietra05.htm

Here (hopefully!) is a photograph, as requested.

It is a Mexican figure which is approximately 4.75 inches tall.

I also thought the first letter of the signature was an "A" for "Andrea" but the few signatures I could find online for Andrea pieces didn't seem to look anything like this one.

Does the photograph of the design assist at all?

(Thanks for the help so far).

Oo-er....if I had seen that picture first without seeing the signature,  I would have put money on it being an Archimede Seguso piece!!
Does that throw a spanner in the works?
The only other Mexican I have seen that had Andrea Tagliapietra's signature was a Neodymium piece and the style of Mexican and the signature were both different.  The signature was more flowing.  I know they can change depending on the implement used to write the signature though.

Is one of my reference books correct that Lino was (originally) an apprentice to Archimede Seguso?   (i.e. If it is Lino rather than Andrea, would this explain the similarity in appearance to Seguso Mexicans?  Could it also be a relatively early signature style compared to more recent full signatures?)

Hi,  :hi:

Your Mexican figurine is just wonderful.  I have one that is made by Oball.  Many modern Murano companies make these including, Formia, Oball, Andrea Tagliapietra and I am sure there are others.  They are copying the Seguso design.  Andrea Tagliapietra is considered to be a more modern Murano name.  I do believe Andrea Tagliapietra is the maker of your figurine.  Nice find!
