The vase reminds me of a Stefano Toso vase I have seen before.  Here it is:  http://www.1stdibs.com/midcenturylighting/furniture_item_detail.php?id=238135

I believe Stefano signed most of his work though.  The base to the Ebay vase has me questioning whether it is Murano or not.  Still a very nice vase, whoever made it.

I'm here JP.....your spelling is OK,  but the seller's isn't!!
It's a very 'chunky' piece isn't it!!

Hi TB if its the pontil that gives you doubt i have several large well documented Italian vases with the same and some are signed and with labels , ie two large Zebrati vases a Pulegoso vase and a Barovier Nealitico bowl  plus others .
Something was nagging me all week saying i had seen that vase in a book but i have so many to trawl thru . sorry ROSE

Hi,
this is not an idem identification, but I have seen vases made with these features by Fabiano Amadi.
Produced approx. 3-5 years ago.

Sincerely

Alex

Thanks Alex this one has at least 30 years of that unmistakable grey natural wear and i am sure i have seen it in a book or a catalogue ,
do you agree it is probably Italian ?

Hi,
if it is so old for sure it was not made by Amadi (he is 38-38 years old). Anyway it looks really "murano made".
It is a mix of several common "Murano themes".
Nice piece imho

Ciao

Alex
