I bought this vase late last year here at a market in Surry Hills Sydney, Australia.

It still retains the Beranek label.
I contacted Jindrich and he gave me the necessary information:
vase 8829 - manufactured in three sizes - 8829/24, 8829/20 and 8829/15, Jaroslav Wasserbauer.
I had seen a photo in one of the Beranek catalogues.

Today I read through the threads of this Topic and was really happy to find the link: http://www.vcm.cz/program/exhibitions/glass/glass.html
It was there that I made leap into the catalogues! I am thrilled! Thanks to Anik & Rocco! Thank you all!


I have a question about the numeration of the items in catalogue:

My vase is on page 12 of 44 pages at : http://www.vcm.cz/program/exhibitions/glass/pdf/88_91.pdf
In the left hand column there are numbers at the top:8829/24, DNO 8Ø
Which I read as vase 8829 - 1988 number 29 , 24 cm high, 8 cm wide.

And at the left at the bottom are: 880189.
What is the signifivcance of this number?
The medium vase has the number: 880190 and the smallest 880191

@David: Wow, what a great bowl! I love that range (especially the cylindrical vase is high high up on my wishlist)

Here not much success regarding my Skrdlovice collection -- but some other nice pieces found my way :)

@Kevin: a lovely vase as well!
Sorry, I can't help with the pattern numbers issue further...
But someone else here will surely know!

A beautiful Vizner vase today for me -- unfortunately chipped to the base, but at EUR 3,- I had to buy it :)
21.5 cm high and very heavy...

Luckily the chip is just on one side of the bottom, so it still looks stunning...

Extraordinary value! A nice colourway too, I am amazed at the prices you are finding Rocco, but your ability to attribute is equally useful in the hunt for quality glass....... The two together will quickly lead to a great collection!!!

Thanks for the nice comments, guys! :)

I think I am lucky to have a very good visual memory (if this is the right expression).

Regarding the chip: I guess you know the feeling when you spot a piece you would love to have, and notice it has a flaw; to me it then depends on the price, and how much I like it (not a difficult decision in this case; I was so happy I didn't even aks if I would get it for 2,- Euro -- which I usually would do ;D).

Robert, BTW, that Zertova ashtray is gorgeous...

Thx Michael, I like the ashtray too, I overpaid but the individual decides what to buy and I think liking pieces is important....... I would be very keen to acquire a vase in this pattern but they are scarce. You will probably find one in Vienna for 8 euro next week!!!
