Thanks a lot for your in-depth answer, Robert! - Very interesting information...

I had the same feeling as David, when looking through the pattern books and some CGR articles on Skrdlovice (especially from the 1960s), that many of the patterns (most of the designs of Jirina Zertova for example) never seem to appear anywhere.

So maybe many of those may have been made in 1200 pieces or less -- no wonder I am not able to find them. :usd:
And I guess production of the red Jezek vase may not have seen a second run either...

Your Emanuel Beranek vase is great -- I have never seen a multi-coloured one here; is this the "originial" colourway, and the typical 2-coloured ones like mine came later? - Or is it a different pattern?

Michael

Just to give Anik something to look at:  Perhaps not the most stunning Skrdlovice piece of all time, but it is designed by Rene Roubicek (PN 7212/17), and, according to Ricke, was a precursor element of a quite elaborate piece designed by Roubicek the following year.  That later piece is shown on p. 296 of Ricke's Czech Glass. Also according to Ricke, the pieces were blown by Palacek.

David, thank you for posting... the piece is perfect eye candy.  I love everything about it -- the shape, colour, proportion.  It's another great addition to your collection.  Well done!

Great find, David! -- I looked up the piece you mentioned in my copy of Ricke's "Czech Glass", very 'arty' :)
Unfortunately not something we are likely to find at the local fleamarket...

I only found a Palecek ashtray today, nice but not as interesting as your new addition. (Will post pics when I have time -- totally occupied with saving my exotic plants from the first severe frost this year).

Pics of my recent Skrdlovice purchases :)

- Ladislav Palecek ashtray, PN 7633

And two early pieces, found today:

- another 'Andromeda' vase, brown and colourless glass
- ashtray in a very nice colourway (orange-brown and rose), not sure about designer or PN -- Robert can help I am sure :X:

Once again, a lucky fellow...  I love the vase - I haven't got anything from the 'andromeda' range yet. Thank you for sharing!

Congratulations on this beautiful vase,Michael.

I have been looking but my collection has not grown recently. Very depressing.

But at least I have seen the wonderful additions you in the group have made.

Keep at it!

And a couple centimeters taller than in the designs catalogue.
