Green vase with cased bubbles marked Kosta Boda
« on: May 05, 2011, 03:13:31 PM »
Hi there, I have a green vase (27cm high ) decorated with a bubble design. The base of the vase is marked Kosta Boda , KL 59. The mark KL may be VL but its hard to tell.I don't know why but i cant stop feeling that the signature was added later , but i hope i am wrong.

It does look a little odd, a bit over elaborate perhaps.

the sig looks not quite kosher. Not completely right. A bit off. Has room for improvement. Something like that.

The most obvious reason the signature is dodgy is that Kosta Boda only aquired that name after Kosta merged with Boda in 1976.

Also Lindtrand designs used the signature LH,LU,LC,LF,LG,LS at Kosta & VL at Orrefors so looks like a marriage of the two
