Any ideas what this might be please?
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y195/glassie/blue002.jpg
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y195/glassie/vase.jpg

It doesn't have the deep well base that my other Czech vases have,
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y195/glassie/blue004.jpg
but doesn't look out of place with them stylistically.

I did see a very similar looking vase this morning.  It had a very similar shape/design, but the lower section narrowed and was encased in clear glass.  It had its label on "Schott Zweisel Germany."

I'm sure I've seen this somewhere before - possibly here, but I've looked back at Czech threads without success.  However, some pictures are no longer accessible.

Many thanks.

I think you are very near the mark, with German production. Almost certainly not Sklo Union with that base finish, or Jablonec, for that matter.

Regards,

Marcus

Hi Anne,
Here is the base of my Zweisel jug. It has the same indented base.
The clour is also very similar.
Not sure if this of any use.........but you never know.

Hi Dirk.  I'm afraid they've got it wrong.  Marcus later discovered that it was Sklo Union following one if his research trips.  I don't have it any more as I sent it to Marcus, and if I'm not mistaken, its the one that is now shown in his book and designed by Jiri Zejmon  :).  (apologies for not being able to add the accents to his name).  Hopefully Marcus will look in and confirm.

I agree - I wasn't too sure at first, that's why I hope Marcus will confirm - either way ;D

Today I bought what I think is a (lovely) Jiri Zejmon 16cm vase, pattern number 472 for Rosice.  What confuses me is that my vase has got the standard bird-bath base that most Czech pressed pieces have, unlike Anne's vase above.  Also, while Anne's 'well' appears to have a circular form, mine is more squarish...  Is it possible that one of these vases is not Czech?

Thank you for your thoughts.
