Bark textured vase with black & silver sticker  S & HANDCRAFT

it is 21 cm high.
bought in germany.
stand is plain and polished.
first thought of Süssmuth, but the Süssmuth sticker is different (triangular with an edgy S)
is it a whitefriars ?

It is Japanese - either Sanyu or Toyo Sasaki - we're still out on that.

??????

Wild guess here as I found this one that looks like it -- and might have the same label ?? *[Ebay Link]

There it says it is KINGFISHER ......but not sure.  It says in the Description a S Handcraft.  Maybe ask the Sell for a photo (closer one) of their label ??

Just throwing it out there   :huh2:

nice find, it is the same label. Kingfisher is a whitefriar's colour and should not be used to describe non-wf glass.

Sorry Ivo but Dartington described their pale blue as kingfisher, this blue: https://picasaweb.google.com/Johnmj100/DartingtonGlass#5433684515189343058

Not quite as vibrant as Whitefriars kingfisher. There's always an exception to the rule......

naming it "pale blue" underlines my point, John.

It is kingfisher blue; that's what shade common kingfishers are. I don't think Whitefriars had a monopoly on that shade of blue and the Dartington kingfisher would appear much darker if the glass was thicker. Perhaps on an unnamed bark vase there could be a hint of deception but...
