'Rare' Carnival glass vase

Hi Anne

It would be nice, wouldn't it, if we could all find something as rare as this? But I can tell you (hand on heart) that to find a Rustic Funeral vase (not to mention one with the banding) in the UK is a most unusual event. In fact that is actually the first one I have actually heard of being found in the UK - and I've been collecting and/or researching for 20 or more years now (as well as studying records prior to that). I'm not saying it is the first one to be found here - I'm just saying it's the first one I am aware of.

The Imperial Ripple Funeral does turn up from time to time (but rarely - rarely) and that also is a good find...but not quite as special as this one.

However, take heart. There are other rarities that do turn up in the UK - more often even than in the USA. So you never know...............

Oooooooh, maybe I should consider trying to sell my dish.
What an amazing price :!:

Nah.....If I do consider selling, Glen will have first dibs.

I've got a blue punchbowl and cups in a box in the garage must be time to dig them out and put em on e-bay, the marigold one on Bargain Hunt sold today.

I was a bit surprised that rather nice retro vase didn't make a bit more though.

£100 - but the 1960's punch bowl set also included a 1930's vase that the dealer had decided to turn upsidedown and use as a pedestal base for the bowl...

Carnival glass isn't usually my 'thing' but I really did like the vase.  :D

And the retro "studio" vase finished at about £15... I think....

I think it was actually a puchbowl base, but a much earlier one, I know they inverted it and called it a vase, but I'm pretty sure it was a base.

Yes Paul, you are right. The stall holder said that he had married the two together, but sometimes people who don't have the bowl, will turn the stand upside down and use it as a vase. I also read that on one of the carnival sites whilst researching my dish.
