Whitefriars M151 Bowl - Catalog photo is too small. HELP
« on: June 07, 2011, 03:38:45 PM »
I have just picked up what I believe to be a Whitefriars Bowl - the 8" version of M151.  Unfortunately the Whitefriars site only has one photo of it at 7.4Kb and the detail is just too small to confirm whether mine is what I suspect.  Has a kind soul out there got a Whitefriars catalog from 1964 and is prepared to photograph the item in the hope of preserving more of the detail.  Failing that has anyone got an M151 Bowl that they can photgraph - I particularly need the base photos to confirm whether mine is what I believe it to be.

Hi Ross, don't think they would have been in the 1964? definitely in the 1974
Came in a set 8" fruit bowl and the smaller 4" dishes

Thanks for that link Chris.  It is much bigger(at 365K or so) and I can see the small layer of vertical ribbing around the base that I was not able to make out in the Whitefriars.com link that Lustrousstone gave me.  I had already looked at it but the detail was too fine to be distinguishable.  I will post a set of photos later so that another searcher has easier access to a reference.

By the way Chriss - how did you get into the whitefriarsorg.org site.  I am having trouble - simply using www......gets me to the entry page and then I can't seem to go anywhere.  What am I missing?

I think the site is working again properly now, don't know why it was down for a while.
