Vaclav Zajic - Confused ID
« on: June 10, 2011, 07:13:52 PM »
Newhall illustrates a piece in his book and database as 3527 with 3528 showing no image. There is no additional Libochovice material to confirm this ID.

Jindrich has a Vaclav Zajic exhibition catalogue on his site http://www.cs-sklo.cz/ that shows this vase as 3528 and a different design for 3527.

Exhibition catalogues being notorious for muddling IDs a third source is needed to clairify the ID.

Views of 3527 or IS it 3528 can be seen here

Probably not much help as the CGR is also known to have errors, but a 3527 vase (different from the one in the link and same as in the exhibition catalogue) is pictured in the 1976/10 issue:

I assume the pattern number comes from the exhibition catalogue rather than the manufacturer catalogue. :-\

That picture predates the exhibition catalogue by many years so it seems likely that 3528 is the correct ID for the one I show. But it would be nice to get a Libochovice catalogue confirmation.

Based on the above information I have now updated the linked piece to be 3258 with an explanation and link to GMB

Ah, yes...  I obviously should have checked that before I posted...  :spls:
