Hi Gary I recently bought this P13  mushroom lamp minus lamp fitting and glass shade. What I have done meantime (some day hopefully will come across a glass shade) is to shape a piece of cork the size of opening, fitted a bulb holder to the cork and inserted cork into opening with the bulb (15 watt) inside the lamp. With your lamp the procedure would be for the lamp holder would be on the outside of the lamp.
I am an electrician so it is a safe way of doing it. Hope this helps.

cheers Gary,
im looking to get a fitting made the same idea as it would have had originaly which fits in the neck of this lamp and slightly overhangs the diameter on top (inside neck measures 2 inches, outside 2 and a half inches), flat or domned with fitting on top and one underneath for lighting inside, same kinda of fittings as used on the vase lamps sold by Libertys, this lamp base would have been fitted with parchment shade in matching colours and also lit inside , (acid washed inside lamp base), suppose i could get someone who works in machine shop to turn one for me, i have some double ended lamp fitting with bc fittin on one end and ses on other end i got out a couple of german pottery lamps that were lit inside and on top, so think i should sort something out hopefuly,

Hi Gary hope this photo can be of some use. I took this picture from the Monart lighting catalogue that is in Perth museum archives.
I have permission to reproduce. This is the type of fitting used before it was superceded by the Krinks manufactured light fitting.

thanks Gary,
though thats the wrong fitting for my lamp, my lamp is P22 in ysartglass lighting section, and is meant to have parchment shade , the picture you have is for mushroom lamp glass shade, i need a fitting that would act kinda like a plug in the neck of the lamp, which is double ended to light inside and on top, i have a few mushroom lamps pre and post war, so if anyone has a P22 pedestal lamp with fitting can they please post pic of fitting and  i shall try and get one made
                 thanks again for your help

This fitting is on a lamp I made using a shell, it needed a very narrow fitting and bulb so the shell would fit over it. They are readily available from electrical wholesalers, the bulb is 15 or 18 watts and is designed for appliances like microwaves. The fitting with bulb is three inches tall.

Two fittings like that on a piece of wood would do the trick at minimal cost. Drill some extra holes in the wood for warm air to escape (bulb will last longer if it does not overheat), of course that would not be necessary if you used LEDs.

If you can get a 3 arm fitting, just remove the arms and replace with a disk. I once used the back cover of an old pocket watch which had the advantage of looking good too. Polish of the solver plating and you get the right colour brass finish too, the curved sides should keep it in place.
