Signed red vase, modern?
« on: February 07, 2006, 07:36:18 PM »
I bought this for £2 which I thought was quite reasonable. Probably from Ikea though.  :lol:

As far as I can make out it is signed: "Cal?i Bra?? 04". I presume the "04" is for the year 2004.

It is 10.75 inches high. It has three sides with a frosted exterior. It's also cased with red and clear glass and it weighs 940g.

Any idea of maker?

Thanks.  :)

Hi Tigger,

Could it be by Colin Brown, assistant to James Maskrey?

He is mentioned here;

If I know, I'll comment. If I think I know, I'll have a go. If I have no idea, I'll just keep quiet and learn from others, so the next time I'll know.

Bingo, I think that's what it is.  :D

Many thanks again Deltab. :D

My mum likes this vase so it must be very nice.  :shock:

"Put that vase down mum, you'll break it". She likes the feel of it apparently.  :roll:

I've tried googling for James Maskrey and Colin Brown but found just a couple of examples of the work James Maskrey does.  :)

Nothing on eBay either, it must be an extremely rare one off piece worth thousands. If only.  :wink:
