Nice solid small blue vase - but who made it?
« on: June 26, 2011, 09:00:35 AM »
I have only had this vase a short while but am finding it hard to attribute.  It is solid - rather like IOW or Kerry glass vases of similar shape.  I have checked about IOW but am having a firm NO from Anton who is somewhat of an expert.  Similarly Andy Hearne does not think it comes from Malta.

So over to you all.  No markings whatsoever, c.10cms high and 13 cms wide.   HELP!

We don't know much about the ranges from Shetland Glass, the similarity to IoW makes them a possibility.

BUMP!!!!

The more I look at, and pick up, this vase the more it seems likely to be a Michael Harris design made in one of the places he started up on contract.  There are many - all of them at the other end of the Earth from me.  Please look again and see if anything strikes you for me to research.

What about Siddy Langley, or somebody who trained with her, such as Julia Donnely?

Or, if you want to pursue the Harris trail, it's more along the lines of Gozo, Phoenician or Mtarfa than any of the others.
Can't help more than that, I'm afraid - a bit clueless here!
