No luck in that direction Anne. But did find this which seems viable. As in Davids book chance expressions it seems to tie in.

The following is an extract from an e-mail sent to Mark:

I did try to trace the silver maker, but this drew a blank as well, apart from one mention of teaspoons, which appears to have a London hallmark and dates to c.1925. Not sure about the central motif, but if it's a bird then it could be a finch, which might explain the first 'F'. The '& S' could be '& Son(s)' of course.

So possibly a company named Finch, M---- & Son(s) Ltd? Alternatively, there is a Victorian silvermaker named Frederick Marson, so perhaps his son carried on the business name? All supposition, based on zero facts.

I guess it's a late 1950s to mid-1960s production, but that's the best I can do.
