I would have said they are subtle rather than loud... compared to Murano equivalents.

Any hints on possible designers at Borské Sklo? Max Kannegiesser is the only name I could find and no obvious link other than colours with Borocrystal range.

Sorry Frank, couldn't find out more about this range either.

They are usually attributed to Novy Bor / Borocrystal, 1970s. (But could be produced far later, I guess).
I see quite a lot of them here...

Jindrich mentioned somewhere that the Borocrystal label was used up to the 70s. The example I showed had the standard Bohemia crystal label of 50s/60s use according to Newhall (assuming the one shown in the book IS yellow.) That would imply an overlap of label use which would not be overly surprising either.

Thanks everyone for helping me to an ID too! I'd seen the Borocrystal at several places, including some i'd be inclined to trust, but this is the first example I've seen with a label. It's indeed very colourful - especially in sunlight it's quite eye-catching (I'll add mine just to let it have a bit of company...)

Very nice colours, Astrid!

Interesting is this bowl in the Chribska 1999 catalogue on Jindrich's site: http://picasaweb.google.com/Jindra8526/CHRIBSkA1999?authkey=Gv1sRgCKjbrouFiseK2gE#5435068415081419618

So at least similar items seem to have been produced there as well (and much later than 1970).

Michael:

Which bowl in the Chribska catalogue do you mean?  I see somewhat close but not a close match.

I find the colours on this piece cheery but not garish, which some of the Chribska tend towards. I bought my piece for the label, but I like it more than I thought I would.

It is the bottom bowl, hard to tell but it seems to follow the same basic approach in methodology but I find it a crude relation!

David, yes, I meant the bottom bowl (not the same as ours, but a very similar style with the blue blob in the base, the orange/pink colour combination cased in clear, and the hotworked bottom).

I grew very fond of my pieces as well -- nice shapes and sooo colourful :)
BTW, I still don't have a single Chribska piece in my collection although I have seen quite a few...

@Frank and Anik: have you seen any items from this range in one of the CGR issues? - I haven't. Funny, as this seems to have been a very successful range.

Hi Michael,

I don't recall seeing any items from this range in the CGR.  In fact, I don't recall seeing any item in the revue listed as 'Borocrystal'.  Sorry.
