Nice MDINA Pieces- Test on New laptop and camera.
« on: July 12, 2011, 11:01:14 AM »
Just fiddling with new camera and software.
I dont think ive shown or seen a similar little squat vase like this one before.
Bought on ebay a few years ago from a seller in Malta, listed as Maltese vase  ;D

Not sure how large these photos are going to be.
Andy

Edit .  seems to work ok, last one resized a bit bigger and added.

Thought the pictures would be bigger as over 100kbs ?

Polished pontil mark and lovely early label.

There are at least triplets, and I do know of a few others - this is a particularly lovely shape - years and years ago (before Mdina got popular) I did do the "what bits would I save in a fire", and managed to get it down to 32 bits, my one of those (32) was my one of these. Round, smooth polished pontil mark, naturally.  :smg:
m - Andy's is very curvy.
Your attributing gender to art reminds me of a time I was in the Riiksmuseum with Michael - he was gazing at a massive and beautiful Dutch wardrobe, the kind with a big, bellying-out base, completely lost in enchantment. When he finally noticed I was watching him, he blushed and said;
"I'm a man. I like curves."

I might have guessed you would have one Sue  ::)

Still confused with the photos, Sue, yours are only 14 and 22 kbs, mine are over 100 , but much smaller

I have yet to get my head around the size issue too Andy. It seems that images can be compressed to a greater or lesser degree but I have yet to play with that. I have just found a method that works for me and the software that I already have on my machine.

I have yet to buy one of those vases, for one reason of another I have always failed to buy one. Worse still I see you have two! :o

I have to agree, gender can be applied to all sorts of things, it's a gut feeling sort of thing. ;D

Thanks John,
i was quite happy with sizing on previous PC and camera, i may experiment with Picasa, or similar.

I've got PaintShopPro on my machine.
After cropping and turning (if needed), I simply click on the "image" bit of the toolbar again (that's where I rotate and crop too), click on "resize", and set the longest side of the pic. to 800 thingys.
Then I click on "save as" in the toolbar, click on "options" at the bottom of the box, set the compression factor to 40 (it's permanently set at 40), then "save" it with a gmb stuck on the end of the name, and it's done, ready to load here.
